"The Undercover Edge"
Defensive Tactics with an Offensive Advantage
November 8 - 10, 2010
Burien, WA |
|
There has been a
growing concern for Undercover Officer Safety. Two undercover
officers have been killed in the last three years and countless
officers have been assaulted and or shot. Due to the enormous amount
of requests by undercover personnel to expand the “hands on”
Undercover Defensive Tactics class in the Washington State
Undercover School and FBI Undercover School we have created a 3-Day
“hands on” course called “The Undercover Edge, Defensive Tactics
with an Offensive Advantage”.
A three-day (27 hours) physically challenging training program
designed for law enforcement officers who routinely work undercover.
The three-day class has one day of “Undercover Survival” in the
classroom and two days of “hands on” practical training on mats and
in vehicles. The classroom portion teaches the student how to
mentally and physically prepare to survive a “life threatening”
attack while working undercover.
All of the
“hands on” training is done in the most realistic training
environment possible, and the course was developed by highly
experienced undercover officers. The creation of this program is the
result of consultation with hundreds of undercover officers who have
experienced some sort of “physical assault” while working
undercover.
Program
The “hands on” portion will teach the
students how to defend themselves against a wide array of suspect
attacks. They will learn:
● How to draw their weapons from undercover concealment.
● How to attack vital areas of a suspect with secondary weapons and
weapons of opportunity.
●
How to defend against knife, and gun attacks.
●
How to look for and use weapons of opportunity in defense of their
lives.
●
How to defend themselves in vehicles when being attacked by a
suspect.
●
How to engage a suspect with a firearm and the problems associated
with it while “in contact” with the suspect.
Please note: While all precautions will be made for safety, it is
“hands on” practical training so each student must be aware of the
inherent risk of injury while participating in this “hands on”
portion of the course. Should a student choose to participate in the
training, it will be at their own risk and they will be required to
sign the Training Commissions Waiver.
